I found the hotel to have its ups and downs. The rooms were initially advertised as 'superior,' and while they were clean and comfortable, the lack of phone reception in quieter areas and the overwhelming heat made it challenging to get a good night's sleep. On the bright side, keeping the window and curtains open helped with airflow. The service had its highs and lows, with a rude accusation of smoking in the room promptly resolved by a helpful manager. Jane at breakfast stood out for her expert local knowledge and cheerful demeanor, a stark contrast to the initial receptionist. The location was convenient for my trip to the Tough Mudder event and breakfast was satisfying; however, the paved car parks and lack of green spaces didn't make it ideal for dog walking. The dining choices were adequate, but the buffet-style set up allowed for a generous morning feast. The facilities were decent overall.
